Climbing up from Les Bosses via the trail to Lac du Vallon, at the level of Les Charmettes, leave the lake trail on the right and climb in a Z-shape on the southern flank. First through the forest, then in the open until reaching the "Montagne" shepherd's hut. A trail continues towards the "Combe". It is possible to descend to the Roudons cabins. The trail in the initial scree is not well marked, be careful. It is possible to climb to the Col du Pic du Colon, just above, via the Vallon du Coin Lauzier. It appears on some maps as "cabane du Vallon", without further details.
Very small tin cabin used by the shepherd to store various equipment. 2 beds, 1 mattress. A stove not to be used (rusted pipe) and no wood nearby. Water: "relay catchment" just below (likely closed by the shepherd out of season). The catchment is further away, in the combe. The "cabane de la Montagne" is a private shepherd's hut.
