From La Danchère, passing by Lauvitel, then towards Col du Vallon. Access by public transport: Bus departing from Grenoble train station Line: 3000 + 3040, stop Les Ougiers (change in Bourg d’Oisans) Company: Transière. Timetables at http://www.transisere.fr/ Note: this bus does not run every day Hut indicated on IGN map GPS coordinates from carto-exploreur Hut located on the former GR trail (still well marked and abundantly waymarked, through the Draye de l'Embernard). You must leave the new trail at a bend near the stream (traces). It takes about 2h15 to reach the hut from Lauvitel lake and the access when leaving the GR for the last km is no longer maintained, making the trail difficult to identify.
Very small hut. No furniture. Bunk beds without mattresses. (Warning, the lower bed is likely to break) No visible water source nearby. Numerous streams in the area (beware, pastures upstream).
