Accessible only in June, July, August and September. Trail from Villard-Notre-Dame. Approximately 3 hours of walking, or 4 with a heavy pack (900 m of cumulative elevation gain, considering the initial "rollercoaster" sections). Trail of the "Oisans" type, without the usual switchbacks found in Belledonne, Vercors, Beaufortain, Vanoise, etc. Upon reaching 2200 m, you follow a long valley to the south and the slopes of the Rochail on your left. The path then crosses to the other side to approach an elongated rocky promontory (with a small marker at the top). The route climbs between grassy terraces and rocks to the hut, which remains invisible until you arrive. For water, the term "nearby" means fetching it from the last valley you crossed while ascending, or by descending slightly northwest through broken rocks to reach the same valley. **Winter access: this valley is steep and exposed to avalanches and rockfall; extreme caution and safe conditions are required.** GSM network (Orange) is intermittent and very weak; you may need to move around to get a signal.

Small shed on the right can serve as emergency shelter. This hut operates on a reservation basis with an association. **It is forbidden to make a fire inside the hut.** The stove present is out of order. No wood available for burning.
