The Refuge du Crêt du Poulet is a staffed mountain hut located in Isère, run by Pénélope and Nicolas. It is situated on the western edge of the Plateau under the cross of the Crêt du Poulet.

Access

From the Barioz valley base, 1 hour of uphill walk along a wide 4x4 track (winter road) to the hut. Alternatively, a more pleasant route via the Pierre Roubet alpine pastures, following the signposting of the Tour du Balcon des 7 Lacs, 300 m south of the parking area.

Staffed mountain hut with good comfort. To contact the wardens outside the staffed period: 06 83 46 98 05. Email: refugeducretdupoulet@gmail.com. Website: refugeducretdupoulet.fr. Open 2025: 30 May to 30 September. In summer: day and overnight catering, dogs welcome, seasonal activities, does not accept the carte. No winter room. Snacks available in winter during the ski season from January to March. Very busy in summer, as well as the Grand Rocher, it is the Sunday walk. Occasional themed evenings in winter on weekends. Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
