From Vernet-les-Bains, go up to Casteil, then to the Col de Jou (parking). Marked trail to the refuge via the Col de Creu and the Col du Cheval Mort.

Good to know

Large ONF refuge in 2 separate parts: a large room with a table, bench, fireplace and dormitory (camp beds) for 10 people upstairs, and a smaller room with 4 sleeping platforms and a fireplace. Overall, the refuge is in good condition but could do with a thorough cleaning. The interior is a bit grim.
