Marked trail from Le Désert via Col du Mollard (East), via Pas du Cuert and Col de Grapillon to the South, or via Col du Planet (North). From the South (Col de Grapillon): the pass is slightly exposed. From the East (Col du Mollard): the first few meters above the pass are a bit steep but it is the easiest route. From the North (Col du Planet): the trail is not frequently used but regularly marked in yellow. It follows the ridge. A few slightly steep sections. All three routes have sections that can be dangerous in winter. There are some lapiaz and other holes on this plateau.
Cabin indicated on IGN maps. Wooden cabin, raw earth floor, extremely basic and very poorly insulated. Tables and chairs: no. Tools: none. Two poor-quality foam mattresses on the lower bunk, none on the upper one. Pots and utensils, a door not properly fitted. Warning: it is not certain that the stove can work, the pipe is not connected. So it does not work! Or it may have completely disappeared as there is no trace of it in 2025.
