Less than 1 hour from the Chalet de la fontaine noire. Signposted on the forest road, at the fontaine noire. First, climb on logging trails (steep and uneven) while staying on the shoulder. Vegetation is rather sparse. Near the end, the path veers slightly into the forest and reaches a small pass. Shortly after the chalet, visible on the map to the left, there is a sign: a trail continues uphill toward Pointe de Rognier along the ridge, which should not be taken; the chalet is on the other side, on the promontory. There may be ways to circle around Pointe de Rognier in summer, with other huts in the area. The Rognier can be reached easily from this side; the trail is moderately busy but well-marked (blue then red). However, it is quite long.
-No water. Fill up at the fontaine noire -4 to 6 places, sleeping on straw :) insulating and all... -table, benches -stove and emergency wood, the forest surrounds the hut -insulation is likely poor: disjointed wooden walls, large gaps under the roof. But the roof is watertight and the whole place is very pleasant. -View through the fir trees over the Maurienne valley down to Modane, east-facing exposure The optical post is 30 m away. It is now just a ruin. My personal opinion is that it was some kind of semaphore relay. From this shoulder, the entire first part of the valley is visible.
