Via pastoral tracks, from Le Breuil and La Faverge (Hautecour), or by heading straight south from the Bozon pass. The hut is about 100 m west of the southernmost high-voltage power line.
WARNING: this hut is occupied by a shepherd during the summer grazing period! There were originally two adjacent buildings, the usable stone shelter being slightly south of the old wooden chalet, which was quite dilapidated. A notice posted by the Hautecour municipality requests a 4 € contribution per person for maintenance and firewood supply costs. Hut rebuilt in 1988, with a mezzanine equipped with mattresses. Wood-burning stove, broom, saw, table, about a dozen chairs, various furniture and small utensils. THERE IS NO WATER NEARBY, nor any dead wood. The supply may be exhausted: bring a bundle of firewood before leaving the forest level. March 2016: the old chalet appears to have been demolished.
