Usually starting from Pralognan; - either by going up the Doron de Chavière valley to the hamlet of Les Prioux, where the road crosses the torrent on the right bank via a bridge, 250 m. after which a path branches off to the left and heads ESE along the Nants torrent to the homonymous chalet (limit of the PNV central zone). From there, one path continues along the balcony towards the S: this is not the way! The other path keeps going up the valley towards the E, crosses a ridge to the left and reaches the hut after a less steep section. Allow 2h, 2h30 from Les Prioux. - or, from Pralognan, head SE through the Isertan forest, with many zigzags always SE, ignoring side paths to the left, until below the summit of Petit Marchet, where a sharp turn to the right leads SW to the hut nearby. Depending on the load, allow 3h30/4h (almost 1200 m). Both routes have their charm and it is recommended to do the full loop. First hut built in 1971, expanded in 1983 and 2008. Ideal base for quickly accessing the Vanoise ice cap. Classic routes: Dômes des Sonnailles, de Chasseforêt, des Nants, de l'Arpont, etc. Despite the gentle appearance of these icy ridges, beware of crevasses present everywhere. Reservations can be made online on the hut's website, via the link below. Note that bivouacking is allowed in the immediate vicinity of the hut.
