Above the pass, the hut and the Valette lake, overlooking a small unnamed lake. Away from the trail passing the pass and the hut but on the route leading to the Dôme des Sonnailles via its west face.
Former hut built in 1897, opened in 1900, guarded from 1905 and closed in 1926. It had four rooms: on the ground floor, a room for the keeper and a stable for mules, and on the upper floor, two rooms with camp beds reserved for tourists. Currently in ruins, only the walls remain. It was "replaced" in 1971 by the current one [->1510].
