Access

From the Pont St Charles car park (a few kilometres after Val d'Isère), follow the watercourse (the Isère) to a plateau from which the hut can be seen. This path runs diagonally along the right bank (on the left when ascending...) of the torrent flowing through the Malpasset gorge (which means..."the bad pass"). A misstep, whether in the fine season (rain, damp ground, gravel...) or in winter, can be costly (ask the hut keeper!); so be careful!!

Good to know

The bottom of the Malpasset gorges is not blocked at the end of March. Ask the keeper for the best access route.
