Various marked access routes are possible. The quickest route starts from the car park at the end of the Rhonne forest road (640 m), located near the Pierre du Mort couloir. Follow a discovery trail heading west to join a forest track. This leads quickly to the refuge.
A very nice cabin located in a shady clearing. In the immediate vicinity there is a small pond, a fountain, a picnic area and toilets. There are also two annexes, which, like the main refuge, are unfortunately locked due to acts of vandalism. Given the dilapidated state of the Gaulia chalet located in the nearby forest of the same name and also close to a drivable road, this initiative seems quite understandable. However, with the agreement of the local forestry services, it may be possible to spend a night there.
