Sector ST MAURICE sur Moselle/BUSSANG. From the summit of "la tête de la Bouloie" take a small trail following the ridge eastward. It descends gently, which is quite pleasant. The trail joins a path marked with a yellow circle (oriented west/east) at its intersection with a path marked with a yellow cross (oriented north/south). Continue on the path with the yellow circle heading towards Rouge Gazon. After 100 meters, look to your left, and the Chalet des Crétes will be there.
There is a wood stove, but I do not know if it works well as I have not tried it. Two large tables and benches. The place is clean. You can gather some dead and dry wood around. The nearest water point is the fontaine des oiseaux, a 10-minute walk away. Also, the cascade de l'Ours (20 minutes) is nearby at the Roche de l'Ours. Another water source is found by continuing towards the col des Allemands, a large stream at the location called "Gros Sapin" (20 minutes). It is therefore advisable to fill your water bottles before heading to the chalet.
