Access is via the Pas de Mongioia at 3085m and not via the Col de Rubren further south (Italian access). Follow the small Mongiòia lake on its eastern shore on the Italian side to reach the small promontory where the bivouac is built.
Hexagonal wooden and metal structure, relatively recently built. Sleeping platform with mattresses. No heating. Water nearby in the lake (to be treated) or snow patches. Very well located for exploring these remote areas: Rubren, Mont de Salsa, Tête de Malacoste and others...
