In Italy, in the Sestriere Valley, between Sestriere and Pragelato, at the place called "Traverses", take the road heading south into the Parco Naturale Val Troncea. Pass Plan, Pattemouche, then the Pount daz Itrei car park at 1616 m (source). Follow the track to the Troncea hut (path 319).
