Italy, Sestriere Valley, between Sestriere and Pragelato, at the place called "Traverses" head south on the road to Parco Naturale Val Troncea, Plan, Pattemouche, parking Pount daz Itrei 1616m (source), track to Bergerie del Mey then climb to Col Clapis, refuge. Italy, Cesana Torinese (Italian side of the Montgenèvre and Sestriere passes), Sauze di Cesana, at the SE exit of the village, continue for 2 km, then take the track on the right, descend, cross the Ripa and go up the Ripa stream on the left bank to Brusa del Plan 1825m, you are in the Valle Argentera. The track is quite smooth and climbs little, you can start walking from here for the more determined or continue the track for another 5/6km (almost flat) to the terminal parking 1910m (you haven't gained 100m of D+) ... at the footbridge that allows you to cross the stream and reach the Alpe Plane refuge 2091m, then climb to Col Clapis and arrive at the refuge. The Valle Argentera splits into 2 valleys, Valle Lunga and Valle del Gran Miol, these valleys are long, especially at the end !! and allow access to the other side of the Grand Queyon, Cima Frappier, Punta Gran Mioul, Punta Vergia, many peaks nearing 3000m ...
