Italy, Cesana Torinese (Italian side of the Col de Montgenèvre and Sestrière), Sauze di Cesana, at the SE exit of the village, continue for 2 km, then take the track on the right, descend, cross the Ripa and go up the Ripa torrent on the left bank to Brusa del Plan 1825m, you are in the Valle Argentera. The track is quite smooth and climbs little, you can start walking from here for the most determined or continue the track for another 5/6km (almost flat) to the terminal parking area at 1910m (you haven't gained 100m of elevation gain ...) at the bridge that allows you to cross the torrent and reach the Alpe Plane refuge at 2085m.
Opening period: from 1 July to 30 September. Services offered: half-board or guest rooms. Very comfortable double and triple rooms with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the valley. Dormitory with 4-6 beds, overlooking the valley, with shared bathroom on the floor. Restaurant. Picnic baskets. Parking for cars, motorcycles and mountain bikes. Stables for horses. Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
