Normal access from Spain: from Irabia lake (Embalse) (40 km northeast of Pamplona), leave the car in the parking area near the dam and continue along a forest track that goes around the lake to the west. Upon reaching the bridge over the Egurguy, do not cross it and continue on the track. The hut is at the end. From France: from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, take the direction of the Iraty station to Iratiko Etchola lake, then take the D301 which goes uphill on the left after the lake. Pass the Sourzay pass. At the Irau pass, take a pastoral road on the left (southwards). Follow this road staying close to the stream (the branches go up towards private sheepfolds). Upon reaching the end of the road (at the ford marking the border), leave the car and continue on the forest track to the bridge over the Egurguy, cross it and go up the track on the right. The hut is at the end (do not go there by vehicle).
Very clean and healthy hut. A fireplace, a table, an attic for 10 in the first part. A bench for 5 in an adjoining room without heating (bring ground mats, the wood is a bit hard). Water from the stream (disinfection mandatory), indicated spring 150 m away. Wood available nearby.
