In summer: from the road of the Nufenen pass (Nufenenpass), Ticino side, a sharp bend marks the Cruina alpine pasture (2003 m). From there, a convenient trail starts to the west in the pastures of the Val Corno, via the homonymous alpine pasture (2205 m) and reaches the hut. Approximately 1h/1h15. In winter: From Ronco, 3 hours
Hut rebuilt in 2007. Aesthetically questionable appearance of a control tower but which offers in return a panoramic view of the surroundings. Very functional and comfortable hut Half board possible. Most rooms have 4 beds (two bunk beds) with two dormitories. Blankets provided everywhere. Mobile phone reception is good (Swisscom and Sunrise) Dogs are allowed but only outside the dormitories. Base for exploring the Griesgletscher basin (Blinnenhorn, etc.). The place is particularly suitable for ski touring, the snow is normally abundant until late in the season. Presence of the guardian: From June to October. In winter on request. The hut is always open but the winter room is limited to 9 places. Stove or camping stove, fuel and stove are available for cooking in the absence of the guardian. Lighting means available in the hut Presence of a radio or an emergency telephone.
