It can be easily reached from the Sanetsch pass in 1 hour 45 minutes. From Derborance, allow 4 hours 30 minutes of walking.
Inaugurated on 15 August 1993. It is guarded from 25 June to mid-September. Numerous climbing routes nearby. Normally not open in winter. Emergency shelter available. No showers, water rationed (treated glacier meltwater), no outlets to charge electronic devices.
