A few kilometres south of Sisteron on the N85, turn right towards the Vallée du Jabron. Pass Castel-Bevon, then turn left towards the Richauds. Take the road that climbs up to Montagne de Lure. The name of the hut is marked on IGN maps at the side of the road. There is a small picnic area nearby. The hut is on the left side of the road when ascending Montagne de Lure.
The hut is made of "hard" materials over 2 "floors" (the ground floor is semi-buried) with the lower part closed. Only two areas at the back of the small house (on the side not visible from the road) remain open and accessible: a room on the left without a door, bare, made of concrete. No particular comfort. A room on the right with a door, also bare and made of concrete. However, when the door is closed, everything is watertight. No windows. The door serves as a window. To turn off the light... simply close the door! No equipment. No heating. Nothing. Picnic table next to the hut. Average insulation (with snow and 0°C outside, 4°C inside...). A shelter whose primary purpose is probably not intended for sleeping, but quite suitable if the opportunity arises and if there is no other choice, provided you have all the necessary sleeping equipment.
