From La Blachière, between Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye and Maljasset, follow the Chillol stream valley. There used to be a recent footbridge allowing easy crossing of the Ubaye, located 300 meters before the Chillol valley. The two bridges allowing crossing of the Ubaye have been swept away by the current. The only possible passage to the other bank is via the bridge located just after the Maurin valley. It is also possible to arrive from the Marinet lakes via the Pas sud de Chillol.
Cabin left open by the shepherd in winter, renovated in 2004. The shepherd usually occupies it from August onwards, with 1500 animals. Facilities: 1 stove (firewood must be brought up as there are no trees nearby, it seems to smoke a lot), 1 large ground-floor bed for 2 people, and 2 mattresses with blankets in the attic. 1 table and benches are available. Water nearby: either a pipe flows in front of the cabin, or you must go up to the stream located 300 meters higher.
