The Cabane Pastorale de l'Encombrette is an unstaffed mountain hut located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. It is publicly owned and situated in the commune of Allos.

Access from Clignon-haut (road from Colmars to Allos), where you can park just before the village. The trail is well marked, but be careful when crossing the pas de l’Échelle just before arriving in the "cuvette" of l'Encombrette! (quite an exposed section on the cliff). In winter, this passage can be particularly tricky.
Update from 06/2020. This hut is likely closed during the summer grazing period to give priority to the shepherd, from mid-June to mid-September... As of February 2021: 1 large thick 2-person mattress in fair condition, as well as 2 thin 1-person foam mattresses and a ground sheet. 03/2022: The heating stove is slightly defective and the single-person mattress and the 2-person mattress are very damaged (mold + holes caused by moths and rats). Presence of very damaged blankets.
