By car via the Roya Valley to Saint-Dalmas-de-Tende. Parking at Lac des Mesches, then 750 m of elevation gain.
79 beds. Open on weekends in May, then from June to the end of October. Hut phone: 04.93.04.64.64. The hut is guarded in winter by reservation only. The wardens will only come up with a group of 5 or more. Please contact the wardens for any request, even if you are fewer than 5, as the hut may already be full. Contacts: Alexandre at 0783961635 for January and February, Julien at 0781779681 for March and April. There is no unguarded section when the hut is open and guarded. If the hut is not guarded during your stay, it has 20 beds. Access via the ladder at the end of the building (dormitory with blankets, ground-floor room with stove and wood, dishes available). The building is frost-free (no running water); water is available at the lake below. Dry toilets are provided on the septic tank; please use them and do not relieve yourself near the hut. A contribution of 8 euros per person per night is requested (payment by cheque, cash in the box, or online at https://refugedesmerveilles.ffcam.fr/reservation.html). The hut will be completely closed in 2027 and 2028 for full renovation work.
