By car From Saint Girons, take the D618 towards Castillon en Couserans. Drive through the village and continue straight ahead towards Sentein on the D4. In Lascoux, be careful to take the D704A (a very small road) on the right; the left road leads to the "La Pucelle" signs, which lead to the parking area (tables, toilets, barbecues). On foot From the La Pucelle parking area, take the trail towards the Port d'Orle, marked as a cross-border GR trail, which follows the Orle. At some point, the GR10 crosses the cross-border trail; do not leave this path. When crossing the Orle at 1450m, stay alert as 150m further, a sign indicates the Cabane de Hounta to the left.
Small hut renovated in 2012 in very good condition, open to hikers all year round. Ground floor: * A very good stove that heats up quickly. * A table and two fixed benches, suitable for sleeping on. * A pressure cooker containing healthy food scraps. * Some dishes, small pots. * A broom * Firewood (there is also a trapdoor to the left of the entrance door, outside, with more wood). First floor: * Mattresses for 4 people. In 2008, a team diverted a spring towards the hut; during my visit in 2016, there were pipe fragments but no visible spring. It was necessary to walk 5 minutes to reach the stream. Warning: the hut is closed from May 18 to June 30, 2026.
