Loading the forecast…
In the middle/upper part of the Aston valley, a narrow road leads to the Pont des Galis, where you stop without crossing the stream. A small trail climbs steadily in zigzags southward until reaching the ruins of La Fruitière. The path becomes less defined, but once out of the forest and past the steep slopes overlooking the ruins, you continue in the same direction along a broad ridge. Soon the cabin comes into view just below 1700 m elevation.
Cabin rebuilt on the remains of an old shelter: it has two compartments, one of which is reserved for shepherds. Good insulation. Dishes, table, benches, kitchen utensils, sink with running water in summer only. Wood is scarce nearby: you must go 500 m east-northeast to find some (or bring it up on the way). Partially occupied in summer by a shepherd from early June to late October. One section remains freely accessible.
