From the Aston valley: Drive up to the parking area at the first hairpin bend just above the Riète dam, past the EDF power plant. From there, descend a few dozen metres northwards to cross the stream on the left (2 footbridges), then ascend into the forest via a good trail that curves southwards to reach the Pont du Pas de la Crabe after a short descent. Cross the bridge to change sides and continue ascending until you leave the forest, where you will find another footbridge. Climb left to reach a track that runs flat south-westwards along a half-buried penstock. From here, do not follow the penstock or you will end up at [->3676]; instead, head southeast (cairns) to find a path that goes east and joins the Coume de Jas stream (footbridge). Follow the stream on the right bank; the path curves southwards. After a steeper climb, you will reach the flat area where the hut stands.
Open hut, made of stone and in good condition, recently renovated. Good insulation. Equipment: 8 sleeping places on 4 double mattresses. Kitchen utensils. Firewood: some can be found on the way up, but not much around the hut.
