From Le Castelet, follow the GRP markings (yellow / red) that pass under the new bypass of Ax. It then follows a gently ascending track. The track ends and the markings lead along a very steep trail through the forest. Leave the Bisort hut around 1275m. The slope then eases but the markings continue along the trail. Leave the Tessoula hut around 1535m. The Mouscadou hut is located around 1695m.
Charming small hut, with mattresses. Stove/fireplace. Modular > table that becomes a sleeping bench. Stream 5 minutes' walk from the hut by continuing uphill on the trail (higher pastures, but water can be drunk without treatment) which flows well. Various tools (saws...) in the space next to the hut. Pots, pans.
