Only accessible via marked hiking trails. Access from the forest track between Serriera and Col de Verghiolo (Bocca a u Virghjolu): at the pass, climb a few metres onto its northern slope to join the yellow-marked path which leads in 15~20 minutes to the Maison Forestière. Alternative access from Col de Caprunale, via a ridge route (same yellow markings, some cairns), first heading west then south, passing the ruined sheepfolds of Astenica.
Many rooms on two levels, some draughts (windows not airtight upstairs). Maintained voluntarily by hunters and hikers. Please take care of it: tidy up, lift and protect mattresses, sweep, take your waste back down...
