Small basic shelter located on the access to Col d'Anterne, 30 minutes from the refuge of the same name. Access from Servoz: 2h30. From Le Châtelet: 1h00.
The name of this shelter varies among visitors; in addition to the Abri de la Pierre à l'Ours, you may also find it referred to as the Abri à Tintin or the Abri du Couvercle. Basic shelter but fairly watertight despite some runoff on the wall backed against the rock (one of the 4 walls is in fact the rock itself). Very small single room with a wooden table, 2 benches, and a stove. Some basic cooking equipment is provided, but it is best to bring everything. No firewood, no water (a spring is nearby but invisible in winter). It should be considered as a shelter against bad weather or as an emergency refuge in winter (the Col d'Anterne refuge is closed outside of the guardian season). A fountain is located 150 m towards Moëde. The stove is worn but seems functional. A small patch of thin moss is present and can serve as an emergency mattress (basic mountain comfort...). Caution: since the door opens outward, winter accessibility is not guaranteed, as the shelter can become completely buried under snow and almost invisible (this is almost the case every year). A sturdy shovel may be necessary... but may not be sufficient if the snow is hard and compacted!
