Good to know

This is a shepherd's shelter. Open all year round but check before coming in summer as if the shepherd is there, I don't think there will be room for anyone else... Basic and simple comfort. There is a spring in the combe heading North-North-East towards Rochers d'Arclosan, remaining at roughly the same altitude as the shelter, it is in a crevice, NOT EASY TO FIND and probably intermittent...Don't count on it too much. Sleeping arrangements on 3 stacked wooden platforms with straw as mattresses: enough to sleep for 5 people maximum (head-to-toe). The stove is quite worn out: there is no wood nearby, you have to descend 200m of elevation to find some (or bring some with you). A few tools: wood knife, sledgehammer, pickaxe, various rusty tools. A few kitchen utensils / pots / cutlery that are outdated more for decoration than for actual use. However, two pots and two pans are in good condition. Small wooden ladder (under the attic) possibly facilitating access to the top bunks. As of the latest news (June 25, 2010): the alpine pasture is no longer used and the cabin does not seem to be occupied in summer anymore for several years.
