From the Charbon mountain or from the Combe d'Ire (road closed to vehicle traffic after Le Martinet). Access to the Combe d'Ire: from Annecy or from Précherel (near Jarsy) via the Col de Cherel.
General condition rather poor, quite dark, and frankly a bit gloomy. The location is indeed quite enclosed and somewhat damp. There is a fountain just in front of the hut. A small room on the ground floor and a small room upstairs for sleeping (accessible by a small ladder), about 8 places upstairs at most. The stove is no longer functional. Mobile network: none. A weak signal is still available 800 m downstream of the hut when ascending from the Combe d'Ire.
