Count 3 hours from Novel, also accessible from Les Mémises and Lajoux. Be aware that the path from Col de Corniens is officially closed (August 2018) due to an avalanche that cut off the path. The passage is nevertheless accessible and relatively easy to follow.
Access to the chalet is prohibited in winter due to avalanche danger. Normally reserved for shepherds. However, the central part seems to remain open: one table and 3 chairs downstairs, 5 mattresses upstairs.
