Access via the parking area above the village "Les Allamands", from Samoëns. Approximately 2 hours' walk from the parking area. The winter hut is about 50 meters northeast of the main hut.
20 sleeping places (plus additional spots in the loft area with a few extra mattresses). No heating system (no stove). Average insulation. In winter, the temperature inside the hut is around 0°C. A good sleeping bag is mandatory. 2 large tables, stools, benches. An outdoor tap (do not rely on it in winter). Sleeping arrangements in a dormitory with 2 rows of 10 bunk beds on either side of a central aisle, mattresses (with covers), pillows (with pillowcases). Total: 20 mattresses, 20 pillows and 40 blankets (2 per bed). A shovel is hung on the hut's facade, essential in case of snow and must be left outside to clear the terrace and entrance door. No toilets in winter. Low sunlight exposure, especially in winter. Sunrise is late (between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.) during snowy months. The former solar panels from the main hut now provide lighting in the winter hut. Off-season, the overnight rate is €12 to be left in the designated box for maintenance, pillows, mattresses, blankets and covers. The staffed Bostan hut, open since the 2022 season, also operates in winter on weekends and during holidays. The unmanned hut is therefore not available during these periods.
