Summer: From the Chazelet car park, follow on foot the wide track leading to the Rivets hamlets (about 30 minutes). Continue along the track, pass the 'Croix de Tuf', then follow the track above the Gâ ravine before descending towards the river. The hut is located on a plateau to the right, about 300 metres from the main track. Allow about 1h30 from Chazelet. Other options: right-hand track at the Croix de Tuf via the Orliers path (and Chabanerie), or via the Combettes trail. See path n°5 on lescheminsdavant.com. Winter: The quickest route follows the summer path up the valley floor. Beware of icy snowdrifts after the Croix de Tuf: it is advisable to head towards Les Orliers, walk 200 metres along the flank after the cabin, then descend back to the valley floor path.
Opening: in summer, the hut opens around mid-June and closes around mid-September. In winter, it is guarded from late January to late March. Between these two seasons, the unguarded winter hut is open for self-management. Facilities: 34 places in small dormitories of 4 to 6 people. Hot showers (€2), sauna (€10/person). Half-board (€55), lunch, breakfast and overnight stay. Bring a sleeping bag liner and a pillowcase (available for purchase on site). Other information: Numerous hiking opportunities from the hut, either as a loop or a traverse: Cime du Vallon (2591m), Gros Têt (2613m), Lac Noir and Lac Lérié on the Plateau d'Emparis, la Buffe (2878m), Pic du Mas de la Grave (3021m), traverse to the Goléon hut.
