From the Chazelet parking area, walk along the wide track that will first lead you to the three hamlets of Les Rivets (about 30 minutes). Upon reaching the Croix de Tuf, turn right towards the Orliers shepherd's hut. Continue along the mountainside, cross a stream to pass near the shepherd's hut of the 'Chabannerie'. Then, a few hundred meters further on, descend towards the refuge. It is advisable in case of heavy snowfall to descend a few hundred meters after Les Orliers towards the Gâ torrent near its confluence with the Chabannerie torrent. Allow 1h30 to 2h from Chazelet.
Water can be taken from the Courbeille torrent to the east or the Gâ torrent to the west. New dry toilets have been installed 25m from the refuge, fully equipped. Please take care of them. Firewood is available. A wood-burning stove (firewood provided), utensils (pots, plates, bowls, forks, etc.), 1 table and chairs, 6 mattresses and wool blankets are provided. Electricity (light and socket) is available (note: 300W max). 2024 rates: €10 per adult, €5 for under 12s (to be paid on site or sent by post).
