From the parking lot at Les Merlins (1210 m) to the east, follow a yellow-marked trail northward. It ends by crossing a large meadow, where the cabin, clearly visible, is located at its northern end. From the west, you can start from Les Signaraux (cross-country ski center) and head northeast along a forest track up to the [->6916], then continue southeast to the cabin.
Very nice stone cabin, also called the Abri du Curé or Père Jean Bonnet ("Bobo" for insiders), named after its designer. See his biography Inside: a stove, 2 tables, benches, 1 garden chair. A lowered mezzanine installed in 2018, accessible by a fixed ladder, can accommodate two people. Basic insulation. Inventory as of June 28, 2025: - log saw - metal coat hooks embedded in the west wall - a broom - 2 thin mattresses and a small thin blanket - guestbook It would be good to bring: - a ash shovel - a new blade (76 cm) for the log saw. Outside: beautiful restored terrace with a bench and a barbecue area. Other: - door latch operable from the inside as well, but since the alignment is not perfect, you have to force it... - water infiltration at the chimney flue level (rain, snow) likely due to a detached outer collar. - already cut branches are easily available nearby. Mobile network: good, including inside the cabin.
