A small road climbs from Autrans; it then rises gradually and is well marked. The Gève refuge (guarded) is not far to the east. You can also take the ridges to the north, which lead to the Sure, the Buffe and the Bec de l'Orient. The Ecouges area, to the west of the cabin, is another possible route. Access by public transport: Bus stop in Autrans. The easiest way on foot is to go via Bourg-de-Dessus, the Ture cave and then the closed Font Scellier hut. From there, simply climb up the long Nave combe. Timetables are available at www.transisere.fr
Refurbished by the town of Autrans in 2004: Very pleasant and pretty cabin. One large table and one small. Ten chairs. A saw but no axe. Fountain indicated 20 minutes to the north, about 800m away (inaccessible in winter). Sleeping area upstairs on the floorboards (see photos). The cabin will be inaccessible due to interior renovation work from 29/06 to 03/07/2026. Inside and around the cabin, NO SIGNAL. You need to walk down towards the Autrans track for 100 m; there, at the junction of the tracks, you get a very weak but sufficient signal for a text or an emergency call.
