The Cabane des Carteaux is an unguarded mountain hut located in the Vercors massif, in Isère. It is managed by a public entity.

At a glance

Access

Starting from the parking area of the guarded Gève refuge. The shortest route passes by the Stèle de l'Avion. Alternatively, you can take the Pas de la Clé, the Pas Brochier and the Bec de l'Orient. The paths are well marked. If you go via the Pas de la Clé and the Bec de l'Orient, it is less than 10 minutes from the summit.

The Cabane 44 or des Carteaux. Former Resistance fighters' hut in the Vercors, destroyed and then rebuilt identically by the association "la Cabane 44". The interior is limited to two wide sleeping platforms that can accommodate 10 people if packed tightly. No stove or fireplace for heating, with average insulation. Table and benches outside.
