Access

3h30-4h from Fond de France. Up to Gleyzin (1h30), the GR trail is equipped with steps and railings. After that, a choice between the right bank or left bank path (shorter, steeper) of the Bréda torrent. You can also leave your car at the Pleynet station, then take a path along the slope to the Gleyzin chalet, longer but with less elevation gain. 3 or 4 hours from Rivier d'Allemont, at the bottom of the Eau d'Olle valley, to the south, via all the lakes and the Col des 7 Laux.

Good to know

The hut is usually guarded from early June to late September (see dedicated website). For sleeping outside the opening period: the arrival hangar of the cable car, on the other side of Lac Carré; a 'bunker' near the dam; a fishing cabin annex near Lac de la Motte. Warning: the Chalet du Gleyzin de la Ferrière is private and closed, contrary to what is indicated on IGN maps. It is unfortunate that there are some power lines between the lakes.
