From Chambon-sur-Lac (1 to 1.5 hours walk): take the direction of Le Mont-Dore via the Col de la Croix St Robert (pass closed in winter). Follow the Col de la Croix St Robert to the barrier. Park. Continue on foot along the snow-covered D36 road to the buron. From Le Mont-Dore (2.5 hours): take the direction of Besse via the Col de la Croix St Robert. Park near the campsite, then continue on foot along the snow-covered D36 road.
Closed from November 10th to December 20th. For the periods when the hut is guarded (reservation may be required depending on the season), see the buron's website. No winter room available.
