From Lescun, drive up the road towards the Caillou du Curé, continue to the Masousa parking lot at the Pont Lamareich and leave your car there. The brave can drive another 2km on a track to the Pont Lamary parking lot, the others will have to walk. Then take the mini-track for 1h30 that leads directly to the Ansabère huts.
There are two huts for hikers and one for the shepherd. The first hiker’s hut, located on the left before reaching the shepherd’s hut, is equipped with a door and a lower bunk for 3 people. The second hiker’s hut, located on the right just after the shepherd’s hut, is equipped with a door, empty storage, and a wood stove. Electric lighting is installed but cut off in winter (to be confirmed in summer). The shepherd’s hut is reserved for him all summer. In winter, there is a fountain outside and inside electric lighting, a wood stove that smokes in windy weather, and a large table for 8 on the ground floor. Upstairs, where 8 people can sleep, there are 5 mattress places (including three on a base, and one double mattress on the floor), and a base without a mattress but comfortable with a thin foam. Water is nearby (the shepherd reserves the fountain when he is there), and there is an abundance of dead wood nearby. No saw is available!
