From Angoustrine, follow a 4x4 track to the Trés Fonts spring. From there, you hike 2 km quite steeply northwest across open grassland: no path leads to the lake. Be careful not to veer too far east or you will come across the Targassonne chaos, a vast scree of very large stones (up to 10 m in diameter) that is almost impassable.
The old metal shelter, which was destroyed, has been cleared away and the cabin has been rebuilt in masonry. See the linked page.
