Ax-les-Thermes, parking at the bottom of Orlu: Take the wide track that leads up to the Cabane d'en Beys. At around 1430m altitude, at the end of a long straight section, before the track turns right, you will need to leave the GR7 and cross the Oriège stream to climb up into a clearing to the east (cairns). The stream can be difficult to cross. You will then go up the clearing and reach the forest, the path will then be well marked, you will climb in tight switchbacks (there are 50 of them) admiring a waterfall, and you will reach the source of this waterfall that comes out of the ground: the Fontaine de Mortes. Be careful, the flow of water coming out of the ground is impressive. Fill up with water as much as you want, and continue south to reach the cabin on its wide plateau.
Small solid building (good insulation). 2 bunk beds with mattresses, 1 table, 1 bench, 1 chair, 1 water tap that reaches the cabin but is not always connected. Water: huge spring (a river coming out of the ground!) a little below the cabin, source of the waterfall visible from below. We are in the Orlu National Reserve. During the summer grazing period, the cabin may be closed.
