The Frères Aymar-Coll refuge is an unguarded cabin located in the Pyrénées-Orientales. It is situated in the commune of Angoustrine-Villeneuve-des-Escaldes.

Quite difficult to find (do not confuse with the many lakes). From the Bouillouses dam, take the path to Pic Carlit (very busy). Leave the first pond on the left (Estany Negre), then another on the right (Estany del Viver). At this point, leave the path to Carlit which goes north and take a trail heading due east. Continue along the trail, pass Estany de la Comassa on the right, then Estany Sec on the left. Immediately after this lake, head west across the grassland (there is no trail leading to the refuge!). You will then come across the large Estagny Llat, whose shore you follow on the right. The refuge is on the edge of the shore.
A 19th-century refuge in its original state! In the land of orris, 30 years before modern access methods and the take-off of Font Romeu, it must have been a palace. According to inscriptions, it was created in 1883 and remains in its original state. Was it used as a base camp for climbing Carlit, the local summit, or as a sheepfold? A first room of 4 * 3m equipped with a fireplace, some stone benches and a storage area for food and utensils. A second room of the same size serves as a dormitory. The fairly flat and somewhat damp floor is covered with a plastic sheet. According to recent reports, the roof may no longer be watertight. Wood is 1km away. Stream a few hundred meters away (must be treated energetically as the water comes from the many lakes that flow into each other, and it is also a grazing area).
