Via Saint-Alban in 1h30, via Montendry in 2h or less by driving up the forest road to near the shelter (less than 10 minutes) or via Les Granges in 2h (steep path). The ridge between the shelter and Col du Petit Cucheron (1228 m) has a few slightly steep sections. Attention! Situation on 8 February 2022: access from Montendry is limited to the 750 m between the village and the second bend of the forest road: beyond that it is blocked by a series of fallen trees.
No water nearby. A stove, wood nearby and a substantial supply inside the shelter. Five metal beds, eight mattresses, a table, two benches, two chairs, an armchair, two shovels without handles, two brooms, a broken bench with three (2 1/2?) blankets. Latrines: small hut 50 m from the shelter, SSE direction. Very good condition, converted from an old battery.
