Near the forest road (closed to traffic) leading from the Grand Cucheron pass northwards to the MontGilbert fort, a 30-minute walk from the Grand Cucheron pass. It is marked on the IGN 3433OT map as a building, but not as a refuge, slightly northwest of the Petit Cucheron pass.

Good to know

Recently renovated refuge. A single bright room with 4 mattresses and a comfortable foam bench. There is a new wood stove installed in 2026 (50cm logs), an axe and a saw, some crockery, a table for 6 people and benches. No running water.
