Visible on IGN. Access is possible from a hairpin bend on the forest road leading up to l'Ebaudiaz via a side trail (not a forest track as indicated on the IGN map). Continue for a few hundred meters after the chalet de bon accueil (near Pra Villard, numerous forest tracks not shown on maps).
It is a wooden chalet with concrete foundations and even an open cellar exposed to the wind, with 3 rooms with windows. One might feel like breaking into a residential chalet. It is likely used by forest workers. The door has a lock but is left open. Good insulation but no heating means despite a chimney flue. 2 mattresses on a bed frame but it is possible to sleep on the floor, wardrobes in the "bedrooms". Broom, shovel. Streams nearby. The atmosphere is very forested and even austere, with no views.
