Upstream from [->2531], a path branches off to the right of the forest track and climbs often quite steeply in zigzags, roughly southeast, through the woods until the cabin, which is only visible at the last moment. You are unlikely to go wrong, as there is no other visible path. Allow 1h30/1h45. The altitudes shown on recently made posts and other signs are unreliable (1429 m, 1410 m...). The sign "1520 m" above the door lintel is accurate (see map + altimeter).
Former alpine chalet restored with care. The living area is lit by a large window in the gable end. Two large tables, benches, a stool. Sleeping accommodation in the loft on the south side. Small cellar used as a storage area. Water nearby, in a small stream to the east of the cabin on the left when ascending, over the last 80 m. A fairly modern stove, the flue is new. Wood nearby, saw, shovels, brooms. Two mattresses on site. Good insulation but a fairly large volume to heat. A few pots and pans. Note that this shelter faces north-northeast, and although it is in an open area, it is surrounded by forest, so the atmosphere tends to become or remain rather cool in general. The door might be better sealed, as in winter the frame is likely to let in snow in strong winds. A group of mice provides the caretaking.
