Park at the "Les Chaffauds" car park. From there, walk following the direction of Drizon and Chaurionde, initially along a forest track (with many junctions and almost no signs), then along a small forest path that passes just below the ruins of the Grange Solliet. Allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes of walking.
It must be made clear that what is written on the door, "refuge", is at best misleading! Indeed, it is a former sheepfold, more or less (rather less, in fact...) converted into a makeshift shelter... Inside, it is the old stable, a single large room, nothing more, the floor remains as it was, with the central drainage channel... and the trough running along the entire length of the building. In one corner, a wooden sleeping platform has been installed, on which lie a few mattresses with plastic covers in a rather poor condition. This can accommodate about 5 people. Otherwise, there is space; nothing prevents you from sleeping on the floor, I counted about a dozen mattresses. As a side note, there used to be a makeshift "stove" in the center of the single room, placed on the floor, whose ridiculous size suggests it must have extremely limited efficiency given the size of the room and the ceiling height. It has disappeared (2020). The roof, in places, shows signs of weakness; some corners of the shelter may leak in case of rain. Firewood is available nearby. For water, there is no fountain; the only water source is a stream 50 meters from the shelter (water must be treated due to the presence of pastures).
